CGRundertow WIK: FABLE OF SOULS for Xbox 360 Video Game Review

Well, if this isn’t one of the creepiest-looking things I’ve ever seen… So this dude’s a… frog? Kinda? Or a person turned into a frog? And magic happened and he’s trying to save his family, because… there are worms? And a weird bipedal thing that eats the worms. And flies trying to carry the worms away. Lots and lots of bugs. Only adding to the creepyness. I’m gonna go grab a can of raid before I continue with this review, ‘kay? ‘Kay. Another one of those early XBLA games, Wik: Fable of Souls is the story of… this frog dude. I realize Kermit was taken, but can we go with…

TSL Plays: Zombie VR Game + GIVEAWAY!

Hi guys! Welcome to another episode of TSL Plays. And today we are at Zero Latency at Suntec City, for some VR games. Zero Latency is actually a free roaming VR experience. Ah now I’ve played a couple of them before. But have you guys? – Nope – Have But then it’s like some machine. Then you have to stand there and go ‘piang piang piang’. Isn’t that just stay there. Isn’t that just like normal arcade player? Then can make you wear the thingy. Ok. So I guess that’s pretty different from what we have here. Because from what I hear… The room behind that we’re going into is…

CGR Undertow – RAD RAYGUN review for Xbox 360

The eighties kind of sucked. I mean, the crime rate was high, people were out of their minds on cocaine… But you know what’s funny? Despite all the things that made the eighties suck—the politics, the culture, the pollution—the nerds somehow made the best of it. It was, like, as the real world fell apart, the nerds just…burrowed into their basements and made awesome sh*t. I mean, it was a golden age for video games. Mega Man alone was worth dealing with…Belinda Carlisle. Heaven’s not a place on Earth. It’s Rad Raygun for the Xbox 360. What’s great about Rad Raygun is that…it takes what was good about the eighties,…

CGRundertow A VOXEL ACTION for Xbox 360 Video Game Review

We’ve covered voxels before. Just check out my Pulitzer-ignored coverage of this generation’s most overlooked zombie-shooting sensation, Block Zombies, for evidence of same. But with such potential in the medium, and by medium I mean a hell of a lot of cubes, there are so many more places we can go… like, right back to the beginning of gaming itself, with platforming action reminiscent of a Mario or Mega Man. A Voxel Action plays like a love-letter to this rich history, combining classical gaming concepts with new-school shinyness. And filters. Lots and lots of video filters. Looks kinda like a photoshop project exploded in here. What struck me immediately about…

Deafeating Deathstoke on the Hard Difficulty Batman Arkham Origins Xbox 360 PS3 PC

Countering is the most important thing whilst fighting Deathstroke. All you need to to is to counter him when the blue halo appears above his head, then hit him as much as possible. He will try to counter you with a small interactive scene. Wait for the promts to counter him during this scence to counter his countering. Once you are through the QTE hit him as much as possible. Deathstroke will try and use his surroundings to damage you. This activates a QTE where you only have a fraction of a second to press counter. Deathstroke will then jump onto you. Repeatedly hit the counter button, until it promts…

CGR Undertow – CONSTANT C review for Xbox 360

Well, might as well get the obvious question out of the way first. No, this is not some crazy, never-ending game of Contra. Disappointing, I know, but…this is, like, the next-best thing. It’s Constant C for the Xbox 360. So this game combines a bunch of awesome things into one awesome thing. You’ve got cute robots in space, a la WALL*E; some clever gravity-based platforming, a la Metal Storm; and a story about the perils of messing with time, a la Back to the Future. And those are awesome things. Those are, like, three of my favorite things. And it all comes together to create this fantastic puzzle-platformer on Xbox…

Too Many Games – Why Can’t You Find the Games You Want? – Extra Credits

I often hear people say that “There are too many games coming out these days.” And I don’t mean that feeling of there being too many great games you wanna play and not enough time to play them all. That I totally get. I mean more on the sense of being overwhelmed of the shear number of games coming out every week I mean last week, we even mentioned in passing that the number of games coming out on Steam this year was getting a little huge. And I think that’s a pretty commonly shared feeling that it’s gotten a bit overwhelming. Big AAA releases, handheld games, Indie games Big…

CGR Undertow – [ENGO] review for Xbox 360

Some games try to convey a story. Some games press the boundaries of the hardware just for the sake of it. Some are just a vehicle by which you express your dominance. [engo] strives for the latter. Because who doesn’t like tachikoma-looking quadrupedal robot tanks blowing each other to pieces while avoiding various and sundry deathtraps and environmental hazards? I know I do. And if you can do it all on the indie channel for a buck, so much the better. Unfortunately, I’m all by my lonesome in the studio today, so I’m left trying to express my death wish to a bunch of computer-controlled opponents. And I don’t think…
