Assemblymember Chu Congratulates Milpitas High School CIF Football Champions

I rise today to introduce California CIF
Division 5A State Championship Milpitas High School football team from
Milpitas under the 21st Assembly District. On December 14 of 2019, Milpitas
High School Trojans won the CIF Division 5A State Championship by defeating
Reseda High School by the score of 34-0. This is their second state championship in the last three years. I’m proud to say that Assembly
District 25 has to produce the state championship for the last three years in
a row and in Milpitas high school Trojans has won two of them in 2017 and
2019. Although the team started the season was 1-6 record, they finally finished strong and won the championship. The state
championship victory was the result of many years of many hours of training
determination and teamwork by all the players and coaches. Also I would like to
recognize the parents and families of the players and coaches who continued to
support them their football team brought together our community in cheer for
their success when they were down and in the end celebrate was a parade and I was
very honored to join them for the wonderful celebration in Milpitas high
school. Congratulation to head coach Kelly King and his team on winning their
second state title. I’d like to especially to congratulate the seniors
on the football team oh they’re all standing up on the
gallery there I’d like to really congratulate the seniors on their team
for their tremendous achievement this year and competing your four years of
high school in the state championship. We wish you the great success in your
future endeavors to all the students returning next year.
Have a great school year on and off the field. And we all wish to celebrate this again next year. Today on the floor, I’m proud
to welcome Milpitas high school football coach Kelly King right behind
me. All right and also we enjoined a coach Kelly, we have the athletic
director Joyner Butcher, principal Francis Rojas, and team captain, retreating captain here, Aneterea Lealao and also Lealao and Josue Taurus and Joey Visera and also our superintendent Cheryl Jordan from the Milpitas
Unified School District. Hon Lien at Milpitas School Board President. Chris
Norwood Milpitas the School Board Vice President and also we’re pleased to
adult of welcoming join me welcoming the Milpitas board members and rotary
president Kelly Ip and the rest of the team and assistant coach up in the
gallery. So colleagues, please join me to congratulate and given a warm California
State Assembly welcome to the CIF 5A Championship Milpitas High School Trojans!
